On July 24, CMA CGM's official website announced that it will take effect from August 14, 2023, and an overweight surcharge (OWS) will be levied on dry containers from Asia to Africa.

Specific notices and charges:

Departure port: from Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan.

Port of destination: Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola and Gabon.

Box type: 1000 containers.

Charges: $150 per 20-foot dry cargo container for containers with a gross weight of more than 18 tons.
